The science of ozone


When most people think of ozone, they imagine a thin layer of gas far above Earth's outermost atmosphere that protects us from the sun's ultraviolet rays.

What is less known about ozone is its great efficacy as a biocide, due to its oxidizing power, which also allows its use as a deodorant and in the elimination of all kinds of chemical contamination, both in water and in air.

How does ozone work?


Ozone is a gas. And it's made of one thing: oxygen.
Ozone is a very strong disinfectant and oxidant.
Any pathogen or contaminant that can be disinfected, altered, or removed by an oxidation process will be affected by ozone.
It is the strongest of all the molecules available for disinfection in water treatment, it is surpassed only by elemental fluorine in oxidizing power
Compared to chlorine, ozone is more than 50% stronger oxidant and acts more than 3000 times faster.
Both chlorine and fluorine are highly toxic chemicals.
We can use a small ozone machine directly on the footwear and this will disinfect effectively for entry into the facilities.
